I am so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sorry that Cave and Caroline's faces look so lifeless, when I imported the models into blender they didn't have a face rig. Did you know: after casting calls failed to find the perfect face for Cave and Caroline, Valve would turn back to their own staff for inspiration? Pictured above, Cave's likeness is actually based upon Bill Fletcher, Valve's lead animator for Portal 2 and other projects. Similarly, Caroline's is based upon Laura Dubuk, an independent contractor to Valve for environment art and creation.

The two would would later cosplay as their counterparts at Comic-Con 2012, where they took photos with fans and other Valve employees (the one holding the Wheatley plush above is Karen Prell, lead animator for Wheatley and other Portal 2 robots).

Fun Fact: The G-Man was, at one point, involved with Portal 2's story, based on developer comments in The Final Hours of Portal 2 and leftover map logic. sp_a2_bridge_intro, the map introducing Hard Light Bridges, has map logic remaining in it referring to a cut G-Man encounter. I can't 100% be sure when he was cut from the story, so it's up in the air if he was cut early or late into the Multicore era of Portal 2's development.
