Funnily enough, at an earlier point it HAD some actual texture! They probably wanted to get some mileage outta the wacky chrome system in GoldSrc by the time the game shipped though hah

it is hexagonal, you see it so smooth because chrome effect. Same for shotgun barrel which is pentagonal

if you see the grey part is kinda hexagonal. I think the whole crowbar is hexagonal like its just a fact of perspective also the brighter lines on the red part are where the edges are
