Actress Halle Bailey practically looks like Alyx Vance. Now I know who I want to see in this role in a potential film adaptation.

Concept art of Mantis People for Limenoia.

The Mantis People are the unfortunate victims of an experiment to implant mantis DNA into the human genome. They were once ordinary employees of Aperture Science, until Cave Johnson's new initiative to increase the efficiency of the staff at the Aperture Science complex led to a monstrous catastrophe, as a result of which half of the complex's workers turned into crazed mutants attacking their colleagues.

According to the original idea, the implantation of mantis DNA was supposed to increase the immunity and endurance of ordinary personnel, from test subjects in test chambers to secretaries and cleaners. Unfortunately, as is usually the case at Aperture Science, they decided not to test the drug on experimental animals, but to move straight to humans due to the overconfidence of the scientific staff, driven by Cave Johnson's arrogance.

Many people were injured in the "Attack of the Mantis Man" incident, but the Mantis Men were pushed back to the lower sections of the complex, cutting off all other exit routes. In order to not risk any more security personnel, management decided to call in FASMA to capture and neutralize the mutants. Thanks to their precise work and the element of surprise, with fewer casualties, FASMA operatives managed to capture the remaining individuals.

Cave Johnson wanted to give the order to eliminate the mutants, but his closest scientist and old comrade Dr. Greg managed to persuade him not to kill the mutants, but to leave them for further research in order to cure the victims of the genetic experiment and return them to human form. Cave Johnson agreed, but on the condition that this would be done elsewhere. The last thing he wanted was more hassle with mutants.

Many thanks to the artist Dainzh for providing the concept – https://community.lambdageneration.com/user/dainzh

Can someone explain to me what all this means? A pharmaceutical company with a similar name claims to have nothing to do with Half-Leaf, but nevertheless, there is a direct reference to the artifact that caused the Cascade Resonance - https://blackmesa.com/

The indie horror The Backrooms: Lost Tape has a rather interesting reference to Half-Life, which also affects the plot. In the second episode (which was released on August 29 this year), the plot is focused on the SCP Foundation employee Nikolas, who is looking for his missing brother in the monstrous dimension The Backrooms. As he progresses, the main character will find himself on Level 52 "The School Halls", where he will discover an artifact that is iconic for the first part of Half-Life, also known as the Xen Crystal. As in Half-Life, the Xen Crystal will have quantum teleportation and by connecting the Crystal to the necessary equipment, it will help to move from the level. We can say that the developers of the game quite authentically wove a piece of Half-Life into the events, hinting at the existence of multiverses. It is worth noting that in the game itself, the famous SCP Foundation is engaged in the containment of anomalies right in The Backrooms.

Here's a note confirming that the mineral that would help the protagonist escape Level 52 was the Xen Crystal. Agree, quite an unusual Easter egg for indie developers.
