We've asked our administrator Dr Wallace Breen if he would do a Q&A about himself and Black Mesa, he accepted. Go ahead and ask any questions and we'll pass them onto him. #ASKBREEN (Picture above is Dr Wallace Breen, Black Mesa's Administrator)

Why do your scientists have to wear those ridiculous ties
Having everyone in a strict uniform makes it so nobody can show off, we were thinking of getting a clip on tie though, perhaps even some color changes.
I should've said all work and no play.
Dear Administrator. I would like to lodge a formal request that the Anomalous Materials lab receive higher funding in the face of increased testing on Xen crystal samples. Mr. Freeman, the subject of my mentorship, has barely put his PHD to good use, as he's been doing nothing but cart-pushing and button-pressing duties for the past month! Dedicated staff for test chamber testing would be greatly appreciated. Yours formally, Dr. Isaac Kleiner of the Anomalous Materials Lab.
Why i'm sure you could've walked into my office, this doesn't need to be a public matter, but yes I'm sure I could provide it.
However we are a bit tight on staff recently, with the whole Cyber-Mutt project perhaps I could squeeze a few out when they've completed that project.
If you have such a shortage of employees why did you deny Russell a job?
While we are missing staff in crucial areas, we already have a lot of hardware developers, and when he came to us his CV wasn't all up to the gold standard we usually aim for.
Dr. Breen I was just wondering when you would be letting out all the bullsquids to be free?
oh im not sure about that they would spit everywhere
While we would like to release these bull squids as soon as possible we are unsure on how they may effect the ecosystem any other animal population, once we have a conclusive analysis set we will be sure to contact you and find a place where we can release them to be free. We also have a set of bull squid fauns that have been domesticated and are very friendly towards humans, they almost act like domesticated wolves/foxes.
#Askbreen if I can get my job back
Weren't you the one injecting people with mantis DNA? If that is you... no.
Hello, i've heard some rumors that you guys stole from @aperturescience. Is that true? Sincerely, - Collins.
I wouldn't say we stole anything from aperture, they've done a lot of good science and some bad, I'd say we extended the scope of their experiments.
Right… “Extended the scope”…
Its never good to have a narrow scope.
And it’s never good to steal technology from other companies, Breen.
Its called magpie-ing
How is Gordon Freeman?
One of our junior scientists under the mentorship of Dr Issac Kleiner, yes he's showing great promise to one day be a great scientist.
I can assure you that Gordon is receiving the most prolific scientific experience on the globe! At least, that's what I told him to sway him away from an offer from our peers at Aperture Science.
Who is your favorite employee?
Thank you for the question however I think it would be rude to pick out one from our talented teams, it also would be very difficult.
What will happened to B.M.R.F. if you lost the government interest to funding some project?
I don't know where you got the idea that were losing our funding, but we most definitely still have our funding.
What would you do in case of a "Resonance cascade" situation?
The likelihood of a resonance cascade is very slim, you have nothing to worry about. We have a lot of security measures in place to make sure that nothing like that happens.
So Dr. Breen, what specimens or resources have you found most fascinating from Xen.
The pits of blue liquid have been interesting to research as mere contact can revitalise a person! The bullsquids are also very cute.
if its ok to ask got anything to say about aperture i apologize if that word isnt allowed for a reason
They are a terrific company and have advanced science alot, looking at their work can teach you alot like what not to do in the pursuit of science... like inject people with mantis DNA or put a woman in a robot.
in the name of science am i right??
Idk chief, even our scientists have boundaries, like the CEO should eat moon rocks.
whats your opinion on xen
Xen is a fascinating landscape with many things to be discovered, but unfortunately we do not have a stable connection to this border world yet.
hey breen hows it hanging in black mesa id like to pay a visit
We've been as strong as usual and our great staff have been expanding the knowledge of the world, you can book a visit at or even apply for a job at xccr.com .
why is my meth teacher there?
