Triage At Dawn... Drawn while listening to Triage At Dawn remixes among others. This song feels like the soul of Half Life; it's emotionally charged, melancholic, it feels like humanity's situation and remixes add even more. One of the most beloved pieces of OST. So here's a tired Gordon enjoying a sunrise on Highway 17 in some imaginary scene...
"The alien beauty of Xen" This, as you may have guessed, was mostly inspired by Black Mesa in which Protozoan, these mesmerizing bubbles, appear far more frequently than in Half Life. Black Mesa, to me, feels very... emotional, especially in Xen. It might be the graphics turned up 1000 notches, it might be the NPCs turned more human, it might be the renewed fricking AMAZING look of Xen and its music but this remake feels extremely emotionally charged for me. And that's what I tried to convey her…
Emesis Blue face studies in... greyscale, is it called? I decided I quite like it. Still trying to figure out exactly what the heck is going on, rewatched it for the 6th time. But I suppose not knowing exactly what's up is part of it's magic. I love how the movie always kept everyone's eyes bright white no matter the shadow (in most cases).
Something I made on Krita, requested by @CaptainQuirk26 They asked whether I could draw them a Vortigaunt with a fedora for a pfp and it seems I went a bit, uh... extra on the background (and lighting). One day- ONE DAY I'll be able to think up and draw better backgrounds. Why does drawing ALWAYS have to hit me with the "It's looking horrible, leave it and redo it", EVERY TIME there's a phase like this. But I went past it yay. Also this turned out to be an experiment. The lineart brush is dif…
Here's what came out of the pain of this usual f*cking situation; Me, a Medic, on fire and running like hell, my health trying with teeth and claws to regenerate fast enough and the SPLITSEC before I touch a medkit, my health either loses the battle or the Pyro crits me with a flare gun. And I land ON the medkit. So I took that almost comical situation, drew it in a perspective I've been wanting to try and loaded it with extra terror and desperation. I ended up adding Engineer because he and Pyr…
The Naked and the Dead but the dead actually stay dead. And way down we go...
I drew Gordon and Barney from memory in the three main head angles at school in breaks today. I was going to add in Alyx to complete the beloved trio but I had no time plus *cough cough* how do you *cough* draw women...? Eheh, I'm rusty. Barney's looking tired and depressed again, one day I'll draw him joyful and smiling. But now he's had a hard shift.
"M" Dr. Ludwig and his various messed up versions throughout Emesis Blue, all in a combination. I have one thing to say about that movie to sum it up and one thing only: If you haven't watched it you're committing a serious crime. Just that. Yep. This here was one of the usual artist roller coasters. Spent a good two hours (maybe three) on it in a row, left, came back and OH SH*T WTF IS THAT. I worked it a bit more, bravely resisting the idea to leave it and pull through and I don't regret it, …
Wall-E, playing something on his little built-in music player (which is barely visible) and Engie trying to spice it up with some cords. To whoever knows Wall-E; you're a legend, have some chocolate. Wall-E was the first ever movie I watched in my life and has huge emotional significance to me. So I thought it might be interesting to take that and put it in the game I'm currently loving and bam. I tried to capture Wall-E's character, his shy/excited/curious nature, touching the guitar in awe an…
I got into and finished House M.D. (what a damn ride, my favorite show) and so uh, have a Ludwig M.D. promo pic heh
