My hot take: HL2 vehicle sections are better than EP2's section. While EP2 is more impressive in scale, it lacks that semi open world feel HL2 had. EP2's optional places to explore are limited to two levels that is when we get our radar. When he have to stop, its required to proceed further. But in Half-Life 2 there are some optional houses to explore, that are not required to go to move forward. I don't have any issues with linear games, I just enjoy semi open worlds more.
I just released the demo of my mod, you can download it now on ModDB.
I will say this, Streetwar levels are kinda underrated Anti-citizen One/Follow Freeman, and Urban Flight. They are quite fun, and have a cool setting.
custom sky I made with photoshop
My newest mod, now is public!
This is amazing
Well my contest had 1 submission which is alright. Technically ShinyJunimo won. But here is my review of it: Geometry/Brushwork: 5/10 The geometry was very simple and flat. Gameplay: 6/10 The enemies didn't drop ammo, so a few times I was out of ammo. Details: 3/10 Very simple details, and very empty. Fidelity to Half-Life 2: 7/10 It didn't feel like Half-life 2, but why a rank so high? it felt like classic early custom maps, so I give credits for that. Total: 21 points It was a short but still entertaining experience, not so bad ShinyJunimo, I hope you learned something new, and I hope you improve your mapping skills. :) There was another confirmed person to participate, but I didn't receive anything, so I imagine it wasn't finished in time. But if I receive it, I will judge it but it won't compete against ShinyJunimo. Here is the download: mediafire.com/file/ylul6zacthqvz…
My First mapping contest. A kind of spiritual successor to Nostalgiaville. All about being nostalgic of Half-Life 2. The Judges will be me No prizes involved, but you can always learn something new or at least earn some bragging rights. Read the details here: 1drv.ms/w/s!An7LsiA9EUe9xw1P-az4…
