Elephants Doing Crack

@edc

I do a lot of dumb shit and crack. I'm EDC, I make YouTube videos, write stories and I love FPS games. Been playing Half-life since probably 2002 or 2003, don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Believe it or not, I actually have my own made up Holiday for Half-life called "Half-life Appreciation Day," or sometimes just "Half-life Day." Every August 25, I try my best to appreciate the games by playing at least one of the games or just admiring the series... Or both (today I will being playing the first game). This tradition of mine started around 2018 I think. I do it to remember Epistle 3, the reason why I got into writing and to love the game that changed my life. Remember to always Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Half-life will always be apart of my life.

Happy Half-life Appreciation Day!

Happy birthday to 23 years of Half-life. Half-life 1 is now officially 23 years old and it is a game that I will never forget. It is the most organic game in the series and I will defend it until I die. I love the gameplay, story and world Half-life had set up with the Black Mesa Research Facility. Which imo is the most interesting Half-life character. Happy 23th Birthday Half-life!

It also may be Opposing Force's 22th Birthday today, but that release date seems to be over the place. Either way, I didn't celebrate Opfor and love how the game is the same age as Shephard now.

Yesterday I got Gunman Chronicles physically brand new in PERFECT condition. I can now see the intro cinematic for the game instead of looking it up on the internet... and that is about it other than the cool WON menu. Idk

Man, to think The Orange Box is now 14 years old. That is a happy birthday to Half-life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2. My copy on the right is 12 years old when I got it on Christmas Day of 2009. The PS3 port I got this year.

The PlayStation 3 port is a poor and bad attempt of The Orange Box. Since Gabe Newell had a grudge with PlayStation, Valve just got EA to port it instead. It was something like that, I read some funny quotes from Gabe Newell and how much he hated the PlayStation 3.

Now, most people seem to forget about how Valve and EA once partnered at one point in time. I was one of those people, I kind of just pretend that it didn't happen. But then I look at the PlayStation 3 port and I always say to myself, "Oh yeah... that ummm... actually happened."

Think about that for a minute: EA HAS THEIR NAME ON A HALF-LIFE GAME! That is crazy man.

I forgot that I did this. When I was playing Half-life on August 25, I played some of Half-life: Decay on the Playstation 2 and actually decided to do the security guard pool easter egg on Domestic Violence. Sadly, this secret isn't in the PC port mod of the game, so seeing it in person was pretty cool. I did it mom : )
