My complaints are that the lighting in some areas look a little too dark and some reflections look a little too shiny. There also seems to be no animation for the portals opening up which looks weird. Hopefully they can fix these up before release.
However I am glad this is free and I think it will be fun to revisit the game like this.
To be fair this is one instance where shiny surfaces make sense. It's a pristine test chamber, makes sense that it would be absolutely spotless and polished to a tea.
There is the kicker to this, Portal is using the Nvidia's RTX Remix software that ports any games that use Direct X8 or 9 and give it RTX support VIA Vulkan raytracing. So I looked it up almost all Valve games will be compatible with Nvidia's RTX Remix system.
you can download it for free on Steam in November, its a free DLC and playable for anyone with an NVIDIA RTX Graphics Card (GPU),you can go wishlist it now on steam by typing Portal RTX and going to its page! hope i helped :)
Honestly looks so cool! I think it's a shame that the art style is almost entirely gone which is why I think this would work better in Portal 2 but still so cool to see.
This looks amazing, now we need Portal 2.

Yeah, i guess it also adds to the sci fi feel of the game.
Aperently this is still running is source

rtx on
rtx off
I think portal and hl2 are the perfect games to show of rtx capability
It looks pretty interesting, but I hope to God this doesn't overshadow vanilla Portal 1. That's what worries me.
Lighting's good, it's just way to C L E A N for Portal 1.
