I made a "Half-life multiverse" timeline, it is based in every game lore, but in some valve employees declarations and fans theories as well.
In the bottom left you will find a guide explaining every colour line meaning with a little resume of the main caracteristics of it's universe

Beyond the glaring issues with the non-canon mods (especially including HDTF into you multiverse,) Left 4 Dead can not take place in the timelines of Half-Life nor Counter-Strike. Half-Life and Counter-Strike canonically exist with-in the L4D universe as video games.

Entropy : Zero occurs 11 months before Half-Life 2. Just sayin' ! And for those interested, Entropy : Zero 2 occurs between Episode 1 and 2 (ish!).

tbf I would put entropy zero in the main timeline that and its sequel is one of the few if not the only 2 half life mods I see as fully canon. Mainly because of just how good the first one is and how good the 2nd one looks so far. The first one is almost what I would expect if valve actually did a proper dlc and EZ2 I pretty well view as the best alterative to Episode 3.

Sometimes I imagine something like that. For me Left 4 Dead could be a part of the HL main timeline. The L4D games take place in mid to late 2000s, while HL1 takes place on 2003 (most accepted date). The thing is, and if I'm mistaken someone please correct me, there is no indication in the canon that the 7 hour war took place IMMEDIATELY after the Black Mesa events, it's just stated that it took place ''after'' the resonance cascade. This ''after'' could be some years, maybe? So we have HL events taking place, then a couple of years later we have the L4D games and then the 7 hour war happened.

Seems extremely far fetched, at least imo. Plus, Half-Life is a videogame in the Left 4 Dead universe. :P

My theory is that each Counter-Strike game is part of a different universe, but all similar to eachother, and that is why you see the same couple of maps across the games but with differences in layout and art direction.

pretty cool that all the valve games are tied together in a huge multiverse

Nice to see Radiated and Through The City on this timeline!

Okay, so here's a major mind fuck: What if Day of Defeat: Source is technically canon in every single Valve game, since DOD is based on real life events that occurred during WWII, and all the games that don't share universes break apart after that time period into their own universes.
