Another tip to mappers out there : Do not underestimate the power of decals & overlays. These things can make an area go from semi decent looking to a very dense and rich environment, and help communicate detail that would be way harder to achieve with just map geometry. This is especially important for destroyed/abandoned environments


First time ever dipping into the realm of texture painting with an actual tablet. I just got one for christmas and felt this was a good one to find out where my skills are at as an artist.
I wanna give a potentially important tip for mappers looking to improve the looks of their architecture and visuals in general. References are important, but a good trick that helps with making unique environments is to imagine that actual living people have been there or worked there. It helps on discovering ways to add more gameplay spots, and make the place feel natural.
