Finally figured out how to 1. create custom particle effects. 2. pack custom particle effects into my maps. Huge thanks to TeamSpen210 helping me figure out how to pack this!

Not Half-Life but Portal. I wanted to share these three screenshots I took after I learned that Portal 2 has a DOF feature. And I do believe they look rather neat!

Recreating and improving pre-existing stuff can actually be both fun and educational. It's interesting how I learned & discovered a few things by just decompiling & seeing how Valve made these Combine Bridge Emitters. I wonder what else there is I could learn
I don't know how many people have done this before me, but it always makes me feel very satisfied whenever I decide to make curvy display screens, rather than your average flatscreen monitor that you commonly see in most source games & mods.
I love applying some sort of 3-dimensional feel to textures like the Combine Field. It's visually pleasing, in my opinion a̲n̲d̲ in my eyes.
