So what happens when you combine elements of Half-Life 2 Perma-Death Running with Speed Running? Help! I am trying to learn how to decompile HL2's maps so I can open them in Hammer++, that way I can create a 'Runners Edition' of HL2. This will make Perma-Death and similar runs more user/viewer friendly by cutting out 15-30 minutes of story building. I figure this 'might' be possible by moving level transition triggers, removing obstacles that would otherwise prevent the player from reaching predefined triggers, that sort of thing. That being said, I've never made a mod, much less anything like this, so I'm not sure if this is possible to begin with. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

After over a year of trying to complete deathless runs of HL2 and the Episode packs in Hard Mode, I've finally completed all of them! 😁👍 Here is today's big win, Half-Life 2 Episode 2! After 77 Attempts, I finally beat my Half-Life 2 Hard Mode Perma-Death Run!!! 😁👍 If you're reading this, you've got to give this run a shot! So I expanded upon the original Half-Life 2 on PS4 project by replacing the original HDD from December 2006 with a brand new SSD! While Fedora 32 recieved a massive boost from the SSD, will that translate to gameplay performance improvements? The PS4 is connected via HDMI to a 240hz monitor, I opted for keyboard/mouse rather than a controller. Want to see me install Linux to the SSD on the PS4? How about extract my Windows installation of HL2 to my Linux installation? All of this and much more…
