Step 1. Decide what I want to draw (i.e. portrait or illustration, more realistic or more exaggerated, etc).
Step 2. Roughly thumbnail for a while.
Step 3. Make a very rough base sketch, so I better understand how everything's laid out and interacts.
Step 4. Draw over the sketch using a more accurate, methodical art style (I favour the method of Andrew Loomis).
Step 5. Once I'm satisfied with that, I ink over everything.
Step 6. Colour the whole piece different shades of the same colour (typically an earthy brown).
Step 7. Add other colours, using the original base colour as a marker for how light/dark it should be.
Step 8. Add any finishing touches.
Step 9. Leave it overnight; if it still looks good in the morning, post it!
(Note: whilst I'm doing all this, I'm probably listening to a TV show; recently it's been Deep Space Nine).

Goodness this is fantastic. What's your workflow usually look like for making your art?
