i recently started dabbling with SFM and i managed to import his HL:A model in for referencing purposes. it's been super helpful with his likeness and getting the angle correct
SFM is indeed great for such things. I've seen pieces, posters, imaginary scenes made in SFM, people make great works! SFM is free, right? Where can one get it?

yep it's free on steam, if you've never used it before you will need to look at some tutorials on how to get started.
