I posted in the SkibidiVerse game discussion that they (the game developers) were stealing models from Half-Life 2. They wrote to me that they would remove the stolen content from the game, and deleted the discussion itself. But then in the deleted discussion (I can't go to it, but it's in the notifications) they wrote the following: (see image). What does that mean? Valve is allowing Half-Life 2 models to be freely used in a commercial shitty game about skibidi toilets? Or maybe they didn't ask anyone and are blatantly lying to me, which is more likely.

The game will be checked by the Steam team before it's permitted to go live. If they're asking money for this garbage, it's likely they'll get slapped down. If it's just a free, unpaid mod, it'll make it through.
It is NOT a SE mod. This game is made in Unreal Engine.
Ah well then. No way this flies. I'll be very surprised if it makes it past Steam's review process.

I can't imagine them having taken legal avenues to get the IP properly licensed and not know the name of the company. Let Valve take care of it, they'll have to review the game if it goes on Steam anyway.

Hello, I confirm that we are not 10 years old, but double, we are a small studio is we know that Half Life 2 is Valve so avoided shouting false rumor / information without having the slightest idea of it.
Press onward, you could try to notify valve, they may ignore most complaints from their community, but legal action is something unavoidable. Otherwise, start a new discussion, be persistent.
I managed to find Valve Software's support e-mail address. I wrote them about the situation. I'm waiting for a reply.

I don't think it will take 5-6 days. If you do have a license to use it, who am I to say you shouldn't. I'm some "noname" from the internet. I wrote this post after your or not your reply in discussions that you got the right to own these models, which is very suspicious. And I wanted to find out the truth, as I have no connections at Valve. And here on this site I'm just sure that such a person will be found.

I doubt they even asked but they are really out here publishing Valves property on Valves OWN platform, I don't even think they know or care about this though as they are just making the game for the money disregarding any legal concerns.
I dug through some Valve licenses and support articles but couldn't find a definitive answer beyond using Valve content being ok for mod projects on the Source Engine. I'd assume though that using Valve's original game content in other engines and then selling the game using their assets is a no go without explicit permission. If these assets were freely allowed to be used we'd have more games in Unreal or Unity using Valve's assets.

Yep, that's Unreal 5. They cannot use the male_07 head (or any Half-Life 2 assets for that matter) in a commercial game project assuming this is going to be sold for money. Unless Valve really just doesn't care.
Man. Creators of this game really put themselves to a risk. They can get lawsuit from VALVe. All of this for a stupid meme.
Is it a mod? If it is a mod then they can use HL2 assets, but if they want to charge money from this game, then it is a pure theft of assets. But if it is not a HL2 mod, they need to get permission from VALVe. I propose you to contact the support and ask them if VALVe has given permission for them to use HL2 assets. I think that these games are pretty risky to buy anyway, they may contain viruses or other shit like that.
