Exploring Valve Archive, part 26. valvearchive.com>archive>Cancelled Games>Stars of Blood>Art Around November 3rd, 2012, a group of 4Chan users went to Valve's office to wish Gabe Newell a happy birthday. One of the group members asked Gabe about a space game that had screenshots circling the internet, to which Gabe replied: "We had an internal project called Stars of Blood. It was a space pirates game. That never saw the light of day." Stars of Blood was an in-development game at Valve. Little is known about it other than art pieces released by ex-Valve artist, Peter König, in 2014. It's not verified that these artworks were of Stars of Blood, but it's not unlikely that they were, considering these were uploaded as part of Peter König's portfolio post-Valve. Recently, Valve trademarked the title "NEON PRIME", which led to much speculation as to what it could be. One source of speculation came from ex-Valve developer "finalflame", who stated this upon seeing the trademark: "Hmm wonder if this is finally the FTL-like ship building game we were working on once upon a time, or if that got shelved. I guess time will tell." This could potentially allude to Stars of Blood, given the focus on Spaceships and space travel. However, none of this is confirmed.
