This is gonna be stupid to ask since EP2 still takes Base HL2's assets anyway (that's a me problem for disk space) but,
don't the episodes still have use as extra assets for GMod?
I might guess as well that Garry didn't expect this to happen.
Since.. how the hell do you connect those extra assets now? Just Base HL2 and you still get the Episodic contents?
I can't even find them in my library anymore which is kind of bullshit if you wanna play the old versions of the episodes. I was luckily able to keep my achievements though for all games.
They're still there they're just classified as tools now, you have to change the library filter
If you want you can go back to the way it was by changing HL2 to the pre-20th anniversary beta

I bought all of Valve's games (except Alyx) for like 15USD in 2022 and I really don't care.
