Oh wow, I love it, Rogelio Olguin appropriately extrapolates that the eyes of the original species probably don't look like the Hunter's, based on how the Combine modified the head structure of humans when they were... changed, and I can see that they took advantage of the bulbous structures on the sides of this being and made them into vestigial eyes. Vestigial faces are always a pretty horrific detail, even when it is an alien.
This is the kind of thing that I wish we could get a glimpse at in Half-life, I don't expect there to be any/many remaining natural versions of these beings, but it would be cool if we could find some kind of archive of the physiology of the synths.
