Serious question: how did gordon not eat, sleep or use the toilet in hl2? in the original half life it was about 48 hours which seems like an utter nightmare but is possible. Half-life 2, minus the time jump was still much longer than that and yet gordon seems just fine. Does the HEV suit give nutrition? If so, did g-man stock it up for Gordon between the two games?
Ah, Colette! good to see you again! Being one of the developers for the Hazardous Environment Suits , I can say with confidence that we've prepared it for dire emergencies in hostile landscapes. We've outfitted the suit with our patented nutrition, morphine, and adrenaline delivery systems, for use in emergency situations and over long periods of time! Ideally, no-one would require the use of these systems, but hypothetically, they could sustain an individual for up to a month. We must prepare for the possibility of losing one of our survey members in the maze-like landscape of Xen, after all!
Thank you very much, Dr. Kleiner. I must say that's very interesting and amazing design, after all nothing can be over-engineered when venturing to Xen! Would have loved to have been involved in its development myself.
Dr. Kliener explained it best!

A scientist in Black Mesa (the game) says something about HEV having a waste disposal system - it's the one in the locker room where HEV is
It’s an interesting question but I think it’s just purely for gameplay.
if it's the HEV suit, please don't tell me how the toilet works.
