Post

Hey all, long time no see. My passion for Valve's titles hasn't gone anywhere, but as always I've busied myself with plenty of different things that have taken precedent in my life, hence why the only people who I'd expect to recognize me are the ones who've been on the platform since the beginning. A recent email for the summer contest (which I may end up entering myself) reminded me about this site, so I figured I'd share a recent creation of mine.

One of my recent projects was a set of custom, scripted stages for Rivals of Aether, which included this stage: Xen. Xen features two forms, each with unique stage hazards to play with.

The basic form (top) features lowered gravity and Vortigaunts that regularly spawn and function as player allies, allying with a player when touched or against a player when hit. Vortigaunts can be disabled via a vote at the start of the round if you just want to enjoy the low-grav.

The Aether form (bottom) features jump pads on the sides of the stage, which provide a set amount of upward momentum when a player on top of them goes airborne, even from things like getting hit or certain moves that take them off the ground. It includes a central platform based on the Focuser device from Half-Life: Blue Shift and functional healing pools on the side platforms.

If interested, you can download the stage here:
