You ready for a half life modding history lesson?
What if there was an anime inspired futuristic cyberpunk total conversion mod for the OG half life...

Well, in the early 2000's, there was! Squadron Ghost was a very ambitious early attempt at a total conversion mod for half life, taking heavy inspiration from anime and manga and science fiction stuff from around that time.

Here's a quote from the official homepage about section.

"Squadron: GHOST is a primarily single player total conversion for Half-Life, heavily influenced by manga and anime, science fiction, and other good stuff.

It's got girls, guns, mechs, even more guns, a giant 60 foot spider made out of titanium and a scene straight out of Indiana Jones."

If anyone here was actually around at the time of this mod getting updates, I'd love to hear what you thought about it!

I'm working on a video about the mod, I've got over a hundred in-dev images and a few in game videos.

That's all I got before I end up running out of text space, feel free to bug me if you want to learn more about this mod!

Curious to see a mod with a unique artstyle and ambitious elements. Kind of looks like a N64 title with the quality of the models similar to Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask (mostly Majora due to the time) So sad that it got cancelled. I wish to see more mods of this type.

I'd say personally in terms of visuals it reminds me more of Jet Force Gemini or Sin and Punishment. It is a shame it was cancelled though. I'd love to see someone try to take on this more anime style for a mod nowadays and see how they take it.

Unfortunately the mod itself was cancelled in 2003 and all that remains are visual assets and a couple of in game videos.
