It uses the original audio but massively improves the quality, here is the description as per Senn: "Dedicated to faithfully remastering all the low quality sound effects and dialogue from Half-Life, Blue Shift and Opposing Force. Monsters. Machinery. Scientists. Your arsenal of weapons. Your footsteps—every sound manually cleaned and restored to full 16/44.1kHz quality." If you're using Xash3d then grabbing this is a no brainer IMO. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone.
