Was Gordon Freeman Aware of Xen Before The Resonance Cascade? So did Gordon know of the existence of Xen, Inter-dimensional aliens and teleportation tech before the Resonance Cascade? I don't remember him having any prior knowledge being hinted, right? Or maybe he had limited knowledge of all things Xen, what do you guys think?

And that the crystals they have been testing on weren't from around.
He probly only took the job because he knew how to press buttons the most. But in all seriousness he probly was doing some physics and test samples and had hints from Doctor Kleiner and Eli about Xen crystals and maybe teleportation? He was also likely messing around a lot with Barney about beer and vents, when there was free time. He was living his normal everyday life as a scientist until the disaster happened. But that's how I would interpretate the Freeman. (He's also a secretly a top of the line weapons expert xD)
I believe he knew there was Xen life somewhere; there are Xen studies and creatures kept all over the place. But naturally, since he wasn't part of the group of scientists found around Xen doing research (as corpses but okay), he had no idea what that world looked like or how being in it felt like.
