If you remember, in HL2 when we meet him at his lab, he says Lamarr is harmless because he has debeaked her. Therefore, she has no ability of infecting and killing humans and as he says, the worst thing she can do is attempt to jump on your head
Maybe he cuts it into pieces for her and then she just swallows them like *gulp*
