It did and still does just amaze me how far the tech has progressed,
and how WELL it's portrayed-
The sheer level of awe one is given in the sci-fi of "holy crap we created teleportation" even with multiple other "big science" machines in the various games.

I mean beats being 2D sprites and 3D environment hybrid like Doom does
