Have the movie expand on a storyline we haven't seen all of yet, Gordon can have a cameo but not be the main character. It would be cool to see the story about Eli trying to find Azian and escape Black Mesa with Alyx only for G-man to show up. Make it lean more horror.
A full length Half-Life film would be pretty cool. Maybe from the perspective of a random scientist trapped in the facility or from one of the marines sent to cover up the incident since having a character like Gordon who doesn't talk wouldn't really work in a movie, plus video game movies are a hit or miss, some movies like that one Doom movie starring The Rock are garbage but some movies like the recent Mario and FNAF movies were pretty enjoyable.

if Gordon talked it would ruin his character he'd have to be like Nicolas Cage in Willy's Wonderland, no talk all actions of course it'd be rated R, have you seen the zombie design? Horror probably
There are already mini-movies "The Freeman сhronicles". But actually I think it's better not to release a movie based on the game. It has already been proven many times that movies based on games turn out to suck.

Personally, I think Half-Life would work better as a live action series. Each season would be a different Half-Life game & some will have different main characters. S1: Half-Life 1 (with a bit of Half-Life: Induction in one of the episodes) S2: Half-Life 2 S3: Half-Life 2 Episodes 1 & 2 S4: Blue Shift S5: Opposing Force S6: Decay S7: Half-Life: Alyx S8: (Theoretical) Half-Life 3 Series would be TV-MA, Gordon may only speak in short phrases & grunts only if needed, & I think both horror & action would work.
