To be honest, fast zombies are the only enemies in HL2 that still manages to scare me to this day. When I first played HL2 I got used to the fact that zombies are slow and pretty easy to kill, so I wasn't too afraid of them. But when I saw this... thing... screaming and running after me, I started to panic. I mean, just imagine something like this running after you in the middle of the night or in a dark tunnel or something like that. Anyway, this was just a thought I wanted to share with you. I agree, there is no enemy that jump scares you more than this one, except unexpected barnacles but that could just be me
When you're speeding down the canal but a barnacle decides it's a good idea to dismount you from the air boat

AGAGAGHS It's even worse when Metrocops have just arrived nearby, you're getting shot by everywhere
Worst-case scenario, You're escaping a battle to get some ammo and heal up but get trapped in the tongue, and now everyone has their way with you, And you can't do anything about it

When I was a kid I was scared of how far these could jump. I used to have nightmares that I was on a cliff and a fast zombie just jumped to me from like a mile away
