Poor Gordon :( I'm a sucker for these emotional pieces, it best matches what I think is going through Freeman's head throughout the whole series. He's not some grizzled action hero, nor a space marine, hell he's barely even combat trained - he's just the right man in the wrong place, and he'd probably be having a mental breakdown right now if he wasn't fighting for his life.
Exploring Gordon's personal experience throughout the Black Mesa Incident has always been one of my favorite things about Half-Life. I'm glad to hear that others delight in (and, consequently, become saddened by) fleshing out his character from a mere vessel into something much more substantial. :') Thanks so much for your comment!
