It seems that Gearbox and Valve had some scandal, because of which some things from Gearbox games we don't see in other Half-Life games from Valve. For example, Dr Rosenberg, or why in Half-Life 2 Barney is not called by his last name like in Blue Shift, or Race X (which I hate) is not found anywhere else except Opposing Force.
