Both "car002a" and "car002b" seen in Half-Life 2 are modeled after the Trabant 601 Universal, a station wagon variant of the Trabant 601 introduced in 1963, built by "HQM Sachsenring GmbH" in East Germany. Many of Half-Life 2's cars are based on real vehicles from Eastern Europe, which fit perfectly with the Eastern European setting.
