All i know is that Ricochet happens in a very distopic future where humans play some kind of FPS pinball irl in space for the entertainment of other creatures. The question is, what creatures ? Perhaps.. could be the COMBINE !!! How may I know this ? Remember: the combine isn't just a one-planet empire (like the roman empire or the USSR), but rather a multiversal empire that has conquerer millions and millions of planets. I know, you might go by "b-but Gordon will get over the combine" yeah, but he can barely sweep them off earth, not fully erradicate them Maybe some of the humans they captured they were sent to spaceships and given immortality just to play Ricochet forever (but we're talking about a smaaaaaaalllll minority and, knowing how cruel the combine is, this may be the best scenario for a human being), so might Ricochet could be happenning years after Portal 2 (which happens 50000+ years after Portal and Half-Life). You might say "but doesn't it happen in a very DYSTOPIC FUTURE ???" Well, think about it: Ricochet maps look odd compared with other Valve maps, so there'd be no surprised it's been millions of years since their creations, and seems that they don't wanna change, nor create new maps I know it's cruel, and i also know that adding the combine to ricochet lore might be nonsense, but if it's not the combine, then who could be ? That's why combine matters
