I think there is a solution. did you prehaps not put the textures in any folder in the materials folder? cause if you didn't, the VMT is reading "materials/texture", and what that means is that there isn't any "materials folder" so it'd come up with a white blob. this does also effect portal 2 with a black square or im just rambling nonsense

no i put the textures in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\hubstate01\materials\detail"
well, you didn't need to include the directory, im pretty sure thats your problem. in your vmt, did you prehaps include materials/"texture.vmf"?
it did not compile the vmt with a directory 😶
