Please add a block feature, or at least something to hide posts from specific users. I don't need XBLAH's gift cards, coupons or ads! They won't work for me, since I don't use Windows (I use a Linux distro), and I don't do everything under a virtual machine. I should be allowed to block ads from XBLAH. And either way, I've heard that their "modding tool" is just a collection of OTHER PEOPLES tools! Note to the XBLAH, if you charge money for one of my tools, I *will* get a "little" angry.
(Edited)
Saying that it's a collection of other people's tools is a misinformation. Everything is native, coded by me, except for Hammer++ and Jack, which are not distributed with the tool. They are downloaded by request of the user.
Even then, I don't need your coupon codes.
They don't work on my computer, I've even told you that before on GitHub, where you seem to have forgotten to upload the code... on a code sharing website.
I think you also forgot to add Mapbase and Half-Life Updated to that list, and a couple other things too.
Well reminded. And still, these mod templates and Source codes are also not distributed with the tool and are freely available in the internet to download. The tool only downloads it and configures it for you.
Huh, your tool starts to seem more like a download assistant.
That's one of the features, yes, but describing it like that is a major simplification, considering the other features it has.
But remember, I can't even use your software. So what's the point of arguing about the feature set of a C# app? Because your gift cards aren't gonna be useful for me, because your app, from my pov is an error message.
just ignore them i guess
Well, it kinda brings down my mental state to a point of frustration whenever I see any of XBLAH's "gifts".
whats the problem with xblah so its just a modding tool that uses others peoples tools or is there a darker past like vmanip?
I just simply don't like software that you pay for, where the actual software could be FOSS, and a MAJOR component is other people's work (which you could download from the internet for free). I'm working on a fork of GoldSrc StudioMDL, and I started working on it back in January, it's a long time project for me. And I want that to stay free, something where you can easily find the Source Code and compiled executables. And either way, I just simply don't want to see coupon codes for a program which I literally cannot use. Especially since I don't actually know if XBLAH asks the developers of the tools if it's okay to use. And at the end of the day, a block (or "hide posts from this user") feature would help everyone.
well thats a asshole move to not ask for permission and lock some features behind a paywall might not be completed idk might go free soon but uhh good luck on making that tool also yeah we do need block feature cuz i got witch hunted once harassed by some people
It doesn't use other people's tools except for hammer++ and jack, that it simply downloads and configured it for you, and that's free.
also his tools flag windows defender, by installing random files that it classifies as trojans, and its not like "XBLAHCompile.bat" was flagged, it was a random file that had no connection to XBLAH or HL2.
False positives happen. Though I am NOT defending XBLAH here!
the major thing is a random file with no connection
also about the stolen tools, now it makes sense why this is on the xblah modding tool steam page
I don't know what that XBLAHCompile.bat is. Make sure you are using legit software. Also, the false positive happens because the tool is full of automations. It literally downloads stuff from the internet on the background, modify game files. Windows defender can't distinguish it from an actual malware.
This has nothing to do with that. Before release, Steamworks support said they didn't want this kind of software in Steam. Others made through, but they were probably the exception, not the rule.
okay thanks
xblahcompile.bat was just an example file, not a real one
sorry, thanks for clearing it up
