Really my only complaint is that the trailer is focused too much on action. Having a well-told story and a realistic world are the things that made Half-Life stand out as much as it did, so I feel like the trailer should've focused on those elements more (assuming your goal was to make a trailer that would make sense around the launch of the game in the first place).
Hmm.. While these things are true, Jerry, I think Half-Life 2 focused more on the story and world than Half-Life 1 did. HL1 is based off of the 'Run. Think. Shoot. Live' motto of the Half-Life franchise, which beholds itself as very action-driven. Besides, this gameplay trailer is really entertaining!
That might be because I love editing montages of games and I just couldn't help myself lol. But tbh it was hard to put much story things in it since there weren't much good voice lines that would fit a trailer. But i did make it a long time ago, I learned so much about trailer making in the past year
