I imagine Gordon turning and twitching in his sleep and once Barney notices, he nudges his shoulder, mumbling something like "Hey, hey buddy, settle down... settle down, just an ol' bad nightmare. You're here, you're safe in the base". Then he keeps watch of his friend until he falls asleep too, sinking his head down.
