I played Half-Life 2 FakeFactory Remastered and what can I say, it was good! I did encounter a few glitches here and there, but other then that, it was a very decent experience.

Without wasting anymore time, I'll just get straight into what I liked about the mod:

1. The added visuals, they were nice, made previous locations that were already beautiful even more beautiful.

2. The details, this mod adds a lot of details to the game, especially in the chapters Water Hazard, Highway 17 and We Don't Go To Ravenholm. Everywhere I went, I always found myself thinking "Oh Hey! That wasn't here before." or "Oh, wait... was that here before?". It was really nice to have something new to explore and find out in a game that I played so many times before.

3. Xen fauna, yeah, this mod added Xen fauna to the game. And it isn't like a hidden ester egg that is located on one map and that's pretty much it. No, you can find it almost anywhere you go.

4. How much more "alive" it feels. After I finished playing the mod, I return back to normal Half-Life 2, just to see the differences between the two. And it all felt so... empty, if that makes sense.

5. New locations. There are a few new locations added in, so keep your eyes open.

So in conclusion, this is mod is a good excuse for you to replay the greatest game that was ever made!

The mod was a mess to be honest, built on base HL2 (non-update) it suffers from the awful flashlight system of the original and doesn't have any of the added in engine lighting benefits the original Cinematic Mod had. To call it Fake Factory is misleading, it should've been called "Cinematic Mod: Remastered" or something like that. Along with this, the creator added Xen Fauna mentioned in this post which doesn't even move and is basically (if not) a prop static and doesn't have any of the liveliness you'd expect from the fauna. Along with that the mod added a buncha horrendous meat walls to the canals and other sections which makes no sense and looks awful. The creator also removed lighting in a lot of areas which makes it really tedious to progress through as the flashlight dies most of the time. Not to mention that if you don't install the mod by overriding the base game files (a really dumb way of making a mod, and not like the original Cinematic Mod) it will not work properly. This mod is also promoted at 28GBs, as opposed to Cinematic Mods 54GBs (including Episodes) This mod doesn't include the episodes. Along with that Cinematic Mod overhauled almost everything I can think of and if you remove all the porn, I'd say it succeeds in what it set out to do. I also personally ran into performance issues in sections, and was met with atrociously slow loading times. Again probably a result of the mod being based on base Half-Life 2. With Cinematic Mod I never faced these issues. Bugs are one thing, but everything I can find wrong with the mod are not really relevant to bugs. But more or less the odd development of this mod. There's a lot of people who would've been willing to help in the community, and the creator didn't reach out to anyone. Being a college student in Brazil doesn't really excuse it I'd say. The mod was also promoted with a bunch of Gamebanana assets, and they're not even included. Along with that the creator did not properly credit each mod.

(adding onto my comment) I will say the mod was definitely made with heart and passion regardless, and the mod creator certainly tried their best. There are a few areas that look quite good, but could've looked better (again with the engine update Cinematic Mod had)
