Hey lads, so im a huge fan of Half Life and Valve games. 1 Problem, ive never played em. Wellll Im getting a new Macbook Air some time this year and I wanna know, What valve game should I start with? (Before yall flame me, the new M1 Macbook Air is very capable of games lmfao)
half life 2 and the episodes, half life, left 4 dead, left 4 dead 2, day of defeat: source and a bunch more
Ricochet!
Hmmm, looks alright. But I might not. Ill see though!
That was actually a joke tbh - I would really just recommend playing all the games in release order (Half-Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Half-Life 2, Ep 1, Ep2).
KNEW IT lmfao, yeah i alr knew it was bad but i wasnt sure but hey idc. I just didnt wanna come off as an asshole. But yeah I probably will play em in release order, and if I manage to rake up a bit more cash, im probably gonna get the valve collection bundle. So i can play them all!
Admittedly you might want to actually play Blue Shift before Opposing Force, the gameplay/style of Blue Shift is much closer to HL1 than Opposing Force is, and the content difference may give a better appreciation for what Opposing Force brings to the table! Overall it might give a better overall experience of the trilogy. The stories of BS and OF don't tie in together, so you don't need to worry about that, either.
I started with portal, then just recently I got into half-life and Garry’s mod.
Just how exactly are you planning to play valve games when most of them are 32-bit and macOS hasn't supported 32-bit apps since Catalina? :P
And you can't use bootcamp either, since – surprise surprise – it's the M1. Good luck with this.
that is true lol. i hate apple for this. But im guessing there might be a way to Bypass this. But hey, theres always the way you can switch between OS installs on Mac...
just thinking, couldnt i use Black Mesa? The fan remake?
Nope, that's windows and linux only.
really? :(
Great, good to know that you actually can game on a Mac! Now I won’t have to get a PC for any reason at all!
