I’ve heard my fair share of half life gun mistakes, but my inner gun nerd couldn’t help but notice that the Half Life 1 MP5 carries 50 rounds. This is impossible without a drum mag as regular MP5 mags carry about 30 rounds. It would be nice to see a mod fix this like MMod or something.

Not necessarily! Behold, a 50-round 9x19 casket magazine: Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectre_M4 Of course, this is a lot thicker than the viewmodel magazine, and even the worldmodel magazine isn't quite thick enough (on top of being way, way too long for a 9x19). Does such a thing exist for MP5s? Well.. I don't know, but someone's bound to have made one at some point, either by adapting the magazine, or the magwell itself. People love a frankenstein, myself included. One thing you always have to keep in mind with the MP5 is that it was one of the earliest models made for the game, already existing in almost its retail form as far back as the early alpha. Soo.. I just went and checked the alpha. Turns out, it originally had a 30 round capacity! So it's less a gun mistake, and more just a balancing change that wasn't reflected in a change to the gun model, just like the non-suppressed sound! Neat, huh?
