I'm sorry for saying this, but everytime I see Gordon just acting natural on comics, I just cant help but think about the fact that acourding to the lore he has been awake for about a week up to the point we get to black mesa east, so in reality he would be looking like a zombie high on morphine XD Someone just give the man some sleep time please
"canon itself is not canon." And in general, a lot of this is just game conventions, in my opinion. Think back at least to how many weapons Gordon has to carry at one time. Or at least the fact that he's just a theoretical physicist, not Rimbaud.
I know, I just like to imagine Gordon as a coffe adicted guy XD
