I was playing through Surface Tension and I was escorting Barney out of the building then I think the door glitched and it somehow gave me 10 additional health points. Awesome!

If you watch a Speedrun, you'll see they very heavily abuse this glitch.

Did you accidentally stumble upon the infinite health glitch? that's impressive, on the first time going through that area, no less.
