Could this Combine Weapon in HL:A be the AR1? It is an energy rifle that looks like it could be the first version of the AR2. (Mabye the AR3 that one dude in white forest was talking about)
I had the same thought. Since I knew it was a prequel I was thinking maybe that some soldiers could have AR1s, since the combine might not have made AR2s yet.
