i was a late joiner - early 2010 iirc - but that menu looks nice and makes me wish i had been playing sooner. the background has more character to it than the lame shots of random maps in tf2 now, and i love the simplicity of the original menu
Hey, did you know there is a background map? You can set it as your background via the command map_background background01 in the console.
Used in The Orange Box for PS3 and Xbox 360, and yes.
