I believe this has been confirmed as just a cameo/nod rather than canon. Cannot find the source.
i know cave johnson mentions black mesa has stolen products from him but knowing cave thats definitely false. a friend told me that it was actually aperture stealing from black mesa but i think that was just a fan theory. so yea probably not canon lol
