My personal interpretation of some of the leaked names for HLX (Fan art soon to follow): Workers: An alien equivalent to stalkers suited to living in the Overworlds environment, attuned to the otherwise uninhabitable biomechanical hellscape of foreign elements and otherworldly technology they work forever on. Not quite alive, not quite dead, they patrol their worksites methodically and with explicit meaning. They are miniscule in comparison to the impossibly tall and physically impossible architecture built who knows how long ago. Do not be fooled, however, by these seemingly insignificant beings of infinite labor, they are comparable to a state of the art security system. They are equipped to man all sorts of auto weaponry, and capable sounding the alarm to much more deadly partners. Storks: These spindly beings are capable of ground and arial assault, a long 'beak' serving as an advanced pulse rifle. The can get in quick to use their razor sharp talon-like modifications to slice and dice friend and foe a like. Great wings service as intimidation and means of flight, carefully made from Combine alloys and a substrate of what was once flesh. They can be cover fire for transhuman detachments, deliver packs of roller mines, and other yet unseen killing machines. They can be heard from afar, with shrill synthetic cries capable of damage in their own right, and yet another calling card for backup from the many legions of adapted aliens kept in the Combines inventory. Pentatanks: 5 legged all terrain behemoths that march and crawl across practically any surface at a slow but unwaivering pace. They can fire explosive and incendiary rounds from the many barrels situated above and on itself, with a mortar at the back for medium range engagements. Its chitinous plates are nigh impenetrable, only key points in the areas of motion are at least somewhat a best bet, or using its mortar rounds against it. They emit a low hum only broken by attack calls and direct damage.
