Okay lamb-gen-community droogs, anyone able to help this passionate gamer out with helping him find the HL2:CTF devs?
Anyone ever notice in Blast Pit in the zombie room before the tram that yeets you into the toxic waste that there’s a spare crowbar? I always found it weird because there should be no way to make it to this point without getting the crowbar…
Can't believe GMan took away Shep's polygons ripinpeice
Hey, I’m trying to add hostile grunts to OpFor, and obvs they’re not in the main gameplay section, but you DO fight some shotgun HECU during the night vision training. Apparently you can’t open the maps from the game itself, so I can’t check what those guys specifically are. But what ARE they? And SHOULDN’T there be a way I can spawn them in my mod??
I’m considering making a model pack of custom NPCs (random Barneys, engineers, factory workers, maybe some other misc random NPCs to fit into Black Mesa.) Anyone interested? I’ve learned of how to export/import models into Half-Life. May basically use the OG human models as a base and edit over them.
Finally sat down and played through the entire game. Badass.
Been playing a Black Mesa character expansion mod and reading on cut content so thought I’d doodle my hypothetical “extra NPCs.” First up: construction dude. I didn’t want to 1:1 just redraw the model found in the game, but took some inspiration. I emphasized his safety harness, with various carabiners and a tool belt attached. Of course he still has a helmet (safety first!) I kept the high-vis jumpsuit but tried to spice it up with some elbow/knee fabric pads. For head variations, I doodled s…
My personal interpretation of what an Aperture Science “Barney” would look like. A very clean, sleek, and “Y2K” aesthetic. The armor is more like a ceramic layered style thing, and instead of a standard shirt-pants-tie uniform of Barney from Black Mesa, I gave these guys a sort of fancy white jumpsuit (asbestos fiber?) The broad color scheme would be white/light-grey/bright-orange. Lastly, I gave him a FN Five-seveN as it could exist at the time and has a vaguely “””sci-fi””” cool vibe.
Do all the NPC men have the same head model? I’ve been trying to study game models for creative inspiration and learning, and I swear all the guys have the same basic head (looking at the jaw, nose.) Is it just me? Was it the same situation with Half Life 2’s humans? Or am I crazy? I’m putting this in modding because it’s regarding models and graphics in the game for the sake of 3D modeling experiments and learning. (Also no discussion tag which would be cool to have…)
The scandalous DMs that scientist in Anomalous Materials DIDN'T want you to see, finally revealed.
