Ok but like, guys have you stopped to consider just what the fricking hell is going on during Half Life 2? There's rebel activity subtly boiling under this all watching, all oppressing, all conquering force, rebels just under the nose of their patrols. Doing what? God knows, probably safekeeping a hidden passage for newcomers and trying to find a safer place. Somewhere in the sky, there's this voice that commands units on the first flicker of danger. Some crazy and eager lad is dressed as a metro cop and casually operates and observes undercover for the Resistance. Meanwhile, the scientist he takes care of and his friend are doing whole teleportation tests between a lab just some kilometers from the Citadel and a small base somewhere in the canals. A rural little village has gone to hell, but wait, there's still this crazed priest that has made his life's goal to send every cursed creature in heaven. Then here comes the star of the show, a 27 y/o lad that has somehow remained 27 and is praised for surviving the previous hell. He and the other scientist's daughter hit it off and OFF THEY GO, two young and optimistic-as-heck kids to destroy that force from the inside with the help of Vorts that decided "Hey, humans ain't worse than the Combine". Here they come, one of them not even wearing armor and only keeping a glock, they're on the roof of the Citadel already, while the streets below burn and boil with insanely tiny rebel groups scattered here and there, mocking the three legged alien shooters striding up and down, while the combine troopers try to understand where all the blue-wearing little humans are coming from. There goes the Citadel and Breen. Anow they're somehow on the ground, taken there by that suited freak who no one knows a thing about and constantly watches everything like a stalker. And now HERE THEY COME AGAIN, inside the Citadel again to wreak havoc on the already malfunctioning tower of hell and bring it down with a BOOM
