first time trying out hammer any beginner tips?
a lot of things can simply just be learned by using hammer and developing your own workflow and techniques. One advice I do have is learn the keybinds, they make working in hammer a lot easier and quicker. Also make the view ports the same size.
Use vertex tool, not carve. Don't make cubic skyboxes, better deal with leaks intanstly. Also wery good tip - make good things, not make bad things.
where can i find that tool?
use hammer++ and/or mapbase
Dont carve
uhm yeah about that
generates errors when opening the map again without being able to recover it
This is the dude who taught me to map and here is a playlist of everything he can teach you. youtube.com/watch?v=JPTqbrRQsbI&…
seconded.
Don't use Hammer lol.
Use J.A.C.K. instead. It's better.
