The HL sounds were unrelated however as seemed to be some software from a generic lazer tag systems company.
Last month I recently played the Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light and in-game they used a lot of stock sounds from the Source games. They are pretty good games tho. :D
There's a particular city ambience in Need For Speed Most Wanted that uses that same break squealing sound effect used in Half-Life 2's train station ambiances. Always catches my ears, even though it's such an insignificant sound.
same but also like other games. i was watching a tv show that uses the same stock sound as the pistol in 007 on the n64. it was funny bc i look back at my dad who could tell as well
