What is White Forrest Missile Base? The White Forrest Missile Base was a command post for the Lambda Resistance group, located in the countryside after City 17 was destroyed by the Citadel's reactor meltdown. It was formally a Soviet Union Missile complex that was used in the Cold War, however this facility was to be decommissioned after the United States signed the START I Treaty in 1991 to reduce nuclear arms, the same year the Soviet Union Collapsed. The successor Russian Federation government pulled out of the START II agreement in the early 2000's, and during this time, the Resonance Cascade at Black Mesa in New Mexico lead to the Combine Invasion, leaving many missile base's to become abandoned and untouched for some time. Some years later, the Lambda Resistance group discovered the base and made modifications and repairs to restore most of the facility to working condition, aside from Silo 2 which had suffered critical damage. Here they developed the production line of the Magnusson Device, weapons, vehicles, teleporters, and other technology to be used against the Combine. Dr. Magnusson, one of the US Scientists from Black Mesa, discovered a Soviet nuclear warhead still present in one of the silos and began converting it into a Rocket Satellite carrying a Xenium Resonator, that could tap into the old array satellite that Gordon launched at Black Mesa 20 years earlier. They could not launch the missile while the Combine was still in full power over their cities, but the Citadel's destruction which fragmented their forces would allow White Forrest to cut off the Combine's super portal for reinforcements indefinitely.
