Totally original question: if you could make the story for a new official Half Life chronologically sequel game, what story would you come up with or be interested. (No 7 hour war or generic epistle 3 answer)

game where you play as barney at the end of episode 1 and through episode 2
there was someone working on a mod for this, it was called Lost Squad, but its been dead for a few years
i know about that, it sucks that its dead looked like a cool mod .
half life 2 beta game or a game were you can play as a combine metrocop or soldier.
I would like to make short stories in different parts of the world telling the lives of different citizens And how the combine affected their lifes
Gordon and Eli go to use the Borealis to try to rescue Alyx from the G-man, who brings Shepard out of stasis to stop them
The idea that the metrocops you see in Episode 1 abandoning the Combine and looking out for their own skins has always fascinated me so: Half-Life 4 set on an Earth that has overthrown the Combine and has divided into two factions: a democratic federation founded by the HL2 resistance, and a militaristic empire led by former metrocops. The metrocop empire has delusions of grandeur and think they're going to conquer the multiverse in humanity's name, but if they open just one portal it'll be the Second Seven Hours War. Gordon has to stop them before they try this nonsense.
I remember Valve devs joking about the idea of a Mossman game where you go around with her little uh... tool gun, I think it is? I think that could actually make a decent game.
